The story is divided into four chapters. The first is set in 1989, and explains the origin of the Turtles. They are being raised in the sewers of New York. April O'Neil, the Turtles' human friend, is working at a pizza parlor when it is attacked by the Purple Dragons, a shape-shifting mutant group. Splinter, the Turtles' sensei, discovers their world is being invaded by mutants and alerts April. April is teleported to a strange new dimension, where she is rescued by the Turtles, and they escape through a dimensional teleporter on an alien spaceship, the "Nimda". Realizing they are in an alternate dimension, the Turtles must figure out how to get back home.

The second chapter takes place after the Turtles are transported to a new world in 1987. They are captured by the Purple Dragons, who are pursuing Karai, the adopted daughter of the Technodrome. When the Turtles cause a disturbance to the Purple Dragons' plans, their leader Bebop and Rocksteady plan to use the Turtles as part of their next Technodrome attack. Ultimately, the Turtles defeat the Purple Dragons and free their friends.

In the third chapter, the Turtles are forced to take a nap in a building. When they awaken, they realize that their time to destroy the Technodrome has passed. Therefore, they must build the time machine.

In the finale, the Turtles have escaped another dimension and must endure a treacherous journey to Earth. However, they fail to reach the Technodrome in time. The Turtles find their way back to the 1987 Earth, but it's been overrun by mutants. The Turtles defeat them and return to the present, but now there's no way to return to their world. However, the Turtles refuse to go home, and fight to survive in the 1990’s. 3d9ccd7d82
